V. Inquiry: Action Items

ACTION ITEMS
V. INQUIRY
Main Idea: Abstinence alone is not recovery. We commit to person inquiry work to better understand the causes and conditions that initial drove our additive behavior.
TIMELINE OF EXPECTATIONS
- Early Sobriety: Early on this can be as simple as developing a regular or semi-regular journaling habit.
- Maturing Sobriety: We begin a more formalized regular journaling habit. We begin the process of looking within ourselves and addressing the underlying causes and conditions that drove our addictive behaviors. We begin to review and answer the various inquiry questions listed in the Recovery Dharma workbook. Also begin the process for general self-inquiry.
- Mature Sobriety: We have completed a formal written inquiry process in which we have explored and begun to address the underlying causes and conditions of our addiction. We have done so with the help of either a Wise Friend, Mentor or a group of Wise Friends. We freely share our experience with others so they can do the same.
